see below for the latest from NJDOT re: the Route 173 Bridge.
This project will be an inconvenience, and we will likely see an
increase in traffic - primarily at rush hour, I would think - while
173 is closed. The State Police have advised that they will
step up their presence in the Borough, particularly at the early
stages of the project. The NJDOT also has a team - which I did
not know about - that is dedicated toward maintaining the integrity
of the detours; they assured me that they will have this team
available as well.
I
ask all residents to bear with the inconvenience while this
important project occurs. It is estimated that 75% of the
bridge is being rebuilt. Please be more attentive while on our
local roads, and if you see trucks on our streets please do not
hesitate to call the State Police. We have a 4 ton weight
limit (excluding local deliveries) for all of our municipal streets
(all roadways in the Borough except Routes 78 and 173 and Church
Street/CR 579). The NJDOT notice is below:

for 2/13 but postponed due to the weather.

Impacts:
Route 173 will be closed at the bridge (between Maple Drive and
Warren Glen Road), local access will be maintained.
Detour
– Route 173 EB will be detoured to CR 637 (South Main Street) to
I-78 EB to Route 173.
Route
173 WB traffic will follow the same detour in reverse.
Currently,
the bridge is expected to remain closed for 125 calendar
days.
